Historic Bust May Lead to Bargains

It’s been over a decade since the financial crisis that began in 2008 crushed the U.S housing market. Since then, the U.S. economy has recovered and housing prices have climbed. In many markets, housing demand dwarfs inventory. While housing prices have been rising for some time and the future of rates is uncertain, factors such as limited home supply, low unemployment, and steady economic growth may lead to a rosy outlook for U.S. future growth. In 2018, the government eased regulations on mortgage lenders that were put in place after the financial crisis which is intended to help lenders originate more loans.[1] Construction on new homes has picked up significantly in 2019.[2] With so many factors acting as tailwinds, don’t push the housing market to the curbed too soon. </br><b>Housing Recovery in numbers:</b> </br>-Construction of new homes jumped nearly 19 percent between January, 2018 and January, 2019.[3] </br>-Home sales in the U.S. are expected to reach 5.94 million in 2019 and rise to 6.14 million in 2020.[4] See More
